Saya tidak melihat alasan untuk menganggap diri kita lebih baik dari orang lain. Saya percaya proses, dan tiap orang jelas berproses dengan cara yang berbeda. Pertanyaannya bukan tentang siapa tahu lebih banyak, atau siapa lebih baik, tapi siapa belajar lebih banyak. Setiap dari kita berangkat dari garis start yang berbeda-beda, dengan demikian bukan berarti seorang yang lebih tahu telah melewati perjalanan lebih jauh.

Aneh sekali mendengar orang mengatakan, “Tuhanlah yang akan membalas perbuatan baik Saudara.” Di telinga saya hal itu terdengar seperti orang yang belanja ke warung dan berkata, “Orang di belakang saya yang akan membayarnya”

People must not stop asking questions, no matter how silly they are, no matter if there is or there isn’t the answer. One who keeps asking questions alive, one who stopped lost his life and mind.

Today, someone I love asked me a question: “am I quiet perfect?” I answered her: “no one is perfect. No matter how much I love you, I won’t use that word for describing you. You might be, and yes you are, gorgeous, pretty, smart, awesome, but perfect is an absolute word. I just can’t imagine attributing it to the fellow human being.” In other occasions, I just wonder how could people see other people as totally perfect, give unconditional obedience to the doctrine and preaches, left no criticism behind.

Sedih sekali membandingkan cara Obama dan politisi negeri ini berkampanye. Obama berkampanye dengan menumbuhkan harapan, sesuatu yang bernama “American Dream”. Orang diajak untuk bermimpi dan berbuat untuk mencapai mimpinya. Politisi negeri ini, mereka berkampanye dengan mengecam eksploitasi ekonomi. Mengecam negara asing yang dianggap menyengsarakan rakyat. Kampanye Obama akan menumbuhkan harapan, kampanye negeri ini hanya akan menumbuhkan kemarahan. Orang bisa membangun hanya bila memiliki harapan untuk dituju, kemarahan hanya memperburuk situasi.
